Terms & Conditions
1. Preamble
These Terms and Conditions of Use ("Terms") govern the use of the VoxMap mobile application, a French electoral mapping and participatory democracy platform. By downloading, installing or using the application, you agree without reservation to be bound by these Terms in their entirety.
2. Publisher and hosting
VoxMap is published by VoxMap, contactable at voxmap.fr@gmail.com. Hosting is provided by OVH SAS, 2 rue Kellermann, 59100 Roubaix, France, in its Strasbourg data center. Data is stored exclusively within French territory and is not subject to the US CLOUD Act.
3. Acceptance and modification of Terms
Registering with VoxMap constitutes express acceptance of these Terms and of the Privacy Policy. Any substantial modification of the Terms is notified to the user at their next sign-in. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance. The current version is available at voxmap.app/terms.
4. Account creation
Registration requires a valid email address, a password of at least 8 characters and a city of residence (optional). A one-time code sent by email validates account creation. The user guarantees the accuracy of the information provided and undertakes to keep their credentials confidential. Identity theft is prohibited and may result in legal action.
5. Data collected
VoxMap collects data necessary for the service: email address, BCrypt hash of the password (never stored in clear text), city of residence and browsing history within the application. Processing details are set out in the Privacy Policy available at voxmap.app/privacy.
6. Expected behavior
The user undertakes to respect the dignity of others and not to post hateful, discriminatory, defamatory content or content contrary to French law. Malicious petitions or comments will be removed and the relevant account suspended. VoxMap reserves the right to report any illegal content to the authorities (Article 6 of the LCEN).
7. Intellectual property
The VoxMap trademark, logo, texts, interface and graphic elements are the exclusive property of the publisher. Electoral data is provided under Open License by the French Ministry of the Interior and data.gouv.fr. Any reproduction without authorization is prohibited.
8. Limitation of liability
Electoral data displayed is provided by the French Ministry of the Interior (official sources). VoxMap cannot be held liable for any errors or omissions in public sources. The application is provided "as is", without guarantee of uninterrupted availability.
9. Account deletion
The user may request deletion of their account at any time by emailing support@voxmap.fr or via the Account menu in the application. Deletion is effective within 30 days; anonymized voting data is retained to ensure the integrity of past consultations (irreversible anonymization).
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and after attempting amicable resolution with the DPO (dpo@voxmap.fr), the competent courts are those within the jurisdiction of the Paris Court of Appeal, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules to the contrary.
